Swan Song

Topic: dedicatedpoems

Music is a language
You speak it to my soul

You free me from my body
And let my spirit flow

Seduce me with your passion
I lay back and get high

Reminds me I’m a woman
When I hear your lover’s cry

I feel I journey with you
No matter where you go

I’m there with you and see it
The land of ice and snow

Lost up in the clouds
I love your Dancing Days

I follow where you lead me
Over the Hills and Far Away

I’m Going to California
Hope someone will know me

I worship at your altar
In your Houses of the Holy

Your music is a gift
Blessed by those above

And as long as I still listen
You have All My Love

I’ll just Ramble On
Can’t stand to be confined

Since I’ve Been Loving You
I’m about to lose my worried mind

In the end it will be worth it
Of all things this I know

Can’t help but love the wonder
Of your Rock and Roll

Always I’m amazed
By your still bright burning flame

And even though things change
The Song Remains the Same

So this is just a Thank You
To my beloved Zeppelin

Your words they pave the road
Of my Stairway up to Heaven

This is a great idea! An excellent tribute to a great band. They have always been one of my favorites. I will never forget the first time I heard "Black Dog." I was in junior high school. It is interesting how the music of our youth gets intertwined with our memories and how these special songs are touchstones, forever linked with specific events in our lives. Great write!

A wonderful write and tribute to a great band. I do not think this was cheezy at all. I think this is among the better band tribute poems I have read. Excellent job Dee!

"All of My Love" and "Four Sticks"
