Drinking Ashes

Topic: DarkPoetry

Last night I parked my car at the corner of Omain and Ruth,
In that same old spot with the same old feelings,
The same old intentions and the same old people.

And now I think someday I will repay him,
For all those countless times he’s been able to pull me away.
When I’m sick of myself, or sick of this place,

He’d take my hand and with a drunk embrace,
And numb my mind, till I’d fall over dizzy,
And laugh at the world as I hung upside down,
And forget all my words, an alcoholic clown.

Because last night I sat there,
In my same old spot,
Drinking him down, as I plastered my brain,
Drinking away my worries, swallowing the earth,
So, please. Please explain

Cause I was sick right then and I needed a break.
So I just clocked myself out, cuz I’m sick of this work.
Maybe I’ll take my cigarette break,
For five minutes or for life.
In hope that I’ll be fired.

And I woke up the next day, in a pile of ashes,
And everything seems so vague, I can hardly remember.
Only my hatred for this place,
And the glowing ember.

Cuz last night I was lonely, so I invited over my friends,
First came Hatred, with Liquor close behind,
And we all talked for a while, and none of us seemed to mind.

But then something happened,
and my friends started to brawl,
Hatred punched at Liquor,
And stepped backward with a fall.

I tried to split them up, but Liquor hit me first,
And I fell to the floor, with a drunken burst.
Then Hatred stepped to the side, taking a smoke to calm his nerves,
I begged him to relax, but I inflamed him even more.
He took out his lighter and flames begun to soar.,

And I can recall it all now,

I lay stupidly happy,
In my own ******* home,
As I danced with the devil
And sang his death poem.

Liquor numbed up my brain,
Hatred burned now my vault,
With flames all around me,
It’s really my ******* fault.

And maybe now I’ll learn not to run away,
Cuz I have no where to run, no place or background.
Cept this heap of trash,
That I myself burn underground

Cuz last night I parked my car at the corner, preparing to crash,
Where I met my friends Liquor and Hatred,
And I drank my own ash.
