Candlestick's Glory

Flickering light gives way to darkness,
But only after burning strong.
A burning candle of desire
Dies in its glory of light that's gone.
But the burning candle is long remembered
As a timeless ripple in a river of time.
To die a burning candle
Is better than never to die.
For unlit candles do not die,
They do not burn with passion.
They're stored away in safety,
and forever there they lie.
Once known, but now forgotten,
They are stones lost in the sea.
So burn bright!
Let the wax run down!
And bring hope to those who fall,
Because it's better to die a hero,
Than to never die at all.
