Sadist

The soul is black.
Petrified with pain,
but it keeps it happy
and it keeps it sane.

One may have asked,
"Why all the torture and greif?"
Said nothing while masked,
because of its belief.

Disguised as a warmth
but really a cold mistress.
Starts out as a simple question
"I can't believe i missed this."

First, it gets hot,
then it gets cold.
In the end it hurts.
It carries on as we grow old.

Love is a sadist.
It tears at you, slowly.
In the end, however,
it eats you wholly.

It takes pleasure in the pain
of people's broken hearts.
It finds you, it seizes you,
and tears lovers apart.

It is a villain.
It interrupts their peace.
The clock strikes twelve.
They fall asleep alone.

Can there be something
quieter than silence?
The waiting, the disbelief
and the utter defiance.

Denial,
gray, losing its touch.
A canopy covers the evening.
Before clouds never meant that much.

And the day dwindles by,
and hope fills the air.
Nothing is alright.
No rest, too much despair.

"No! Why? My end is nigh,"
"the forsaking has gone by."
"But still, I suffer, and I just sigh."
"It is still what I deny."

The drops on my window
of a midnight rain
tell me that I
may have caused this pain.

It's insane.

And we sailed
into the morning sun.
Never looked back,
it wasn't only about one.

However, even though
its mercy comes not often,
there is still a chance
that we have not fallen.

Chances are given,
when fate gets involved.
It doesn't have to hurt,
the mystery may be solved.

Love is a sadist,
but yet a merciful one.

True love only comes from
what once was,
and what was under your nose.
It's believable, because

even polar opposites
can love sometimes.
It lasts if you try,
until the day you die.

Strangers will love too,
or maybe after a while.

You truly love when
you would walk a million miles.

You learn to love when
you can just let go.
Just forget what you don't know.
Love will come, with mercy, you know.

Love can be a sadist,
if you do it just for nothing.
It will make you happy,
if you just keep searching,

for someone who cares.
