Forget me not Friends

Contributed by hardrocker15198916 on Wednesday, 26th April 2006 @ 06:14:19 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

Explain to me you wretched excuse of a “worthy” friend
Why don’t you answer me, speak to me, what happens at the end
Forget me nots I leave upon your doorstep this last time
Upon whom but me did you place the blame for your crime?

Explain to me why you cause my questions; I fear all my lies
Why don’t I get up and leave before the last piece of me dies
I must forget the forget me nots we shared all our lives
Upon whose shoulder but yours did I always weep and cry

Explain why the past is null, that I must let go?
Why didn’t I tell the lies to secrets I didn’t know?
Forget get you not; I shall never forget all our laughs and tears
Upon whom do I place my trust: even though it’s you I fear?

Explain to me my purpose…explain my life again
Maybe say it thrice more, lend the story to my friend
I must remember the forget me nots; o so purple and pure
When tears pervade and you go insane friendship is the cure

wow, i really loved this poem. i liked your rhyming scheme a lot for this poem because it worked really well with the emotion of the poem. MOst of the words you use at the end of your lines are significant to their poem and make it easy for someone to understand your poem on the first read. i also like the symbolism of the flowers. They add a nice touch to the poem and give it more of a visual effect. Good write. keep it up!
