I’m sure I’ve heard “too hot to handle” for what others say.
“You really make me think,” one said, but then he turned away.
"She’s clever but eccentric-, as if she's come from Mars."
Some might’ve heard me mention my royals, shining as a star.
No wonder Wisdom cries to simple, often landing on deaf ears.
People fear many things and 'the bitter truth' is mostly feared.
Yet once there was a wise man 'who could have saved a town.'
Townsfolk didn’t trust his advice for his style wasn’t renowned.
He’d no-title but travelled the world and taught as Moses of old.
Leaders, as such, are complained against- and some are bold.
Can any tell-me why ‘the words of the wise’ are seldom heard?
Why do fools resound here-say for show, never hearing a word

Hi L-Q,
There's a saying that jokes are funnier when told by rich men, sayings more profound when voiced by learned folk, and physics just dipsy when espoused by a blond! (no joke - Jane Mansfield, the only serious peroxide blonde challenge to Marilyn Monroe, played piano, had uni degrees and spoke multiple languages).
Its got a lot to do with status and stereotypes, for sure. Nice write, makes you think how you do this yourself sometimes.

MM,
Among the endless qualities your works posses, is relevancy and importance. Here I think is a fine example of how that quality is the outstanding persona to the piece. I found your poem witty and thoughtful, but most importantly highly relevant to society.
An amazing job as always.
