CHERNOBYL HOLOCAUST

Contributed by FRANCO on Wednesday, 26th April 2006 @ 11:55:12 AM in AEST
Topic: Event

men’s aspiration to conquer his dream,
his desperation to achieve, is nought
but a unsighted race towards a destination
unseen, end result in devastation and disaster.
Consuming life of tender blissful blossoms
playing unaware, confined to their tiny sand boxes,
giggling like those carefree birds; alas, in a flash clouted
them a bolt wave of killer radiation silencing their
chuckles, choking their breath that shall never recover.
hardship of after-effect came to stay forever
in their midst to sip their life in bits in leisure,
for years and years to come.
world’s leaders made-up condolences
and fancy tongues, snowballing
blame games. Fishing in disturbed water
were our own media dears pocketing huge riches,
lingered not to care.
Feeble victims of the holocaust
nursed their own wounds, consoling one another
till eternity and after.
affection and love exposed and excelled to its
eventual glory. Proclaiming human existence
for the worlds to hear.
(FRANCO)

What a ;big and loving heart you must have Franko to dedicate this beautiful poem for the victims of the Chernobyl disaster.
The consequences, the suffering we even do not have sufficient insight.
But - it is a sign from above, that there are still some that have a long attention span and keen memory when it comes to the pain endured by hapless humanity.
That alone is a "Sign" - a miracle.
Thanks a lot for sharing this inspirational work with us. that betrays your big and caring heart

Be blessed!
Elizabeth

A very touching, powerful poem; I particularly liked the description 'snowballing blame games' I think its an effective way of describing how the blame gets passed around.

I love you poems,

Dom
