grave robber

life trembles
with your soft voice
rattled by pure vanity
your hair was falling out
against your will
demanding settlement
making peace with death
timeless days in the stream
endless blue skies
ending
clouds close in overhead
a coffin in the rain
coughing
rust colored blood
warm on your tongue
stop deceiving the grave
you want to give up
but you don't know how to stop breathing
squinting at the future
so small
now the distance is nearer
shallow breaths
keep your heart pumping
hoping for tomorrow
not to come

A sad but apt poem from a very good writer. |
