The Goodbye Of Goodbyes

Contributed by o7neves on Wednesday, 26th April 2006 @ 01:41:00 AM in AEST
Topic: goodbyepoetry

You came through, and looked real great
It's a damn shame, that we no longer date
You smelled so good, and held me real tight
At that point, I felt so light
I was in your arms, for such a short time
Yet it reminded me of when, you were all mine
You held me close, and kissed my neck
The minute you let go, I was such a wreck
How dare you do that to me, intentionally or not
Re-opened that wound, in that same exact spot
Don't ask me out, not even to lunch
Cuz your words have the effect, of some mighty punch
I can't do it, can't be your friend
Everything we shared, has met its end
I'm real sorry, but this is how it's gotta be
Because from now on, I gotta look out for me
I still do have, much love for you
But this is just, what I need to do
So take care of yourself, and have a great life
Don't worry bout me, I'll be quite alright!

Fresh open wounds, aah yes, they are the most painful. I feel your pain, and know where you are, I'm sorry. It's very hard to love and lose, but if you don't feel the pain of the loss, then I guess you really didn't love, did you? For it's the loss of the love that you mourn, and the bitter sweet memories that you have of that love will last a life time. Sometimes that's the worst part. Be strong, keep your head up, and the pen vertical, you have a gift, continue to use it to your advantage. Good job, nicely written.
