His heart was weak and I knew I would receive
a frightening phone call and so it came.
he suffered cardiac arrest and I was told
I should come quickly but with shaky hands
I could not even drive myself there.
I arrived at the hospital where in intensive care
was my loving husband with tubes and straps
restraining his arms and legs securely.
his eyes plead with mine to remove the straps;
take away the straps but I say no
and my heart lurches at the sight.
the doctor is saying maybe some brain damage
thirty minutes was his heart stopped.
paddle marks on his chest reveal attempts to revive him
and so we waited till the tube was removed.
then big tears rolled down his cheeks but with a smile of joy
as he began to tell us of his journey from life to death
then to a place of unending white light permeated with love and peace.
where he was greeted by his younger brother
who blocked his entrance into the tunnel of no return.
he desires to proceed to never experience pain again
struggling to enter but lovingly prevented.
his brother said, 'It is not your time. You still have things to do,
there are those who need you but we will meet again."
he lost the battle and was brought back into his body
racked with pain but with happy tears at the realization
of that place filled with peace, love and light
that he had always denied the existence of.
and he said, "Everyone goes there. Do not be afraid of death.
It is just a doorway into a better place, where life really begins."
he said in that place he somehow saw the people he had hurt
and he felt the hurt and pain he had inflicted upon others.
he was thankful to be given a second chance at life
then he began to experience a spiritual rebirth
that remained with him till he returned to that place a year later.
In loving memory

What an absolutely beautiful tribute to your very loved husband. This piece also has a message that needs to be shared. Thank you for doing that here. God shined His grace upon your husband when he needed it, to save his soul, so he could tell his story to others, before he returned to the beautiful place of Glory. Be strong, and know that he is in a much better place, with no more pain, and never ending love. Again, thank you for sharing his story. |

When I was courting my wife in early 1983 she had a bout with tuberculosis and experienced a near death, watching from above the frenzied attempts at reviving her. She didn't want to come back, but they, and by the Grace of God, I got her back. Promptly married that angel, as you received yours back for another year. Great honor here to you and your beloved in a tender and impacting tribute. |

This is a great write. It is hard to lose a loved one no matter how old they are. I hope you now live in the moment where love is cherished til the time your heart can be fully healed. |

Oh Katt, this beautiful tribute to your husband brings me right back to my own situation, and the pain endured when my Stephen departed. He has a lot of dedications and it seems I cannot stop writing dedications for him.
How moving and beautiful it is to give tribute to those we love. Almost anticipatory of heaven. Isnt;it?
Nobody could more emphasize than I do.Thanks for sharing this tribute with us
Hugs and blessings
Elizabeth

Wow, not only a great tribute but this better than any love message found in a bottle as well~! This is a wonderful story and people never grow tired of hearing about the positive side of the afterlife. And actually I know Biblical scripture that back-up much of what you've described. Thank you so much for sharing. It was a joy to breathe in.
Regards,
~Lilly-Quill
Some years back a book called "Beyond and Back" started more coming forward with their after-death experiences. Though a lady by the name of Betty Maltz, diagnosed as clinically dead (over 15-minutes) came to live and God used her to travel all over the US to tell her story. She had been a reported and was also given a chance to return to earth. But after being on radio live, a caller told her that her story was a lie because the gentleman recanted his story of a different place with much fire everywhere. Graciously she replied: "Well God must love you even more than me 'cause He gave you a chance to return (from such a hell) to go in a heavenly direction." |
