Dad,
I'd talk to you personally
but I know you're busy,
you do alot of working these days.
Since you got a new wife
you've changed your whole life
and it's doing more harm than
good.
You're always working,
you're drinking alot,
you go out and party too much.
I miss the old you
tell me
what can I do
to get my father back?
I'm only with you six days of the month
and you can't even show up then.
You could atleast
acknowledge I'm there
pretend you care
or say hello once in a while.
I'd ask you if we
could hang out sometime,
but I already know the answer.
I'm working today
I'm tired
I'm busy
or D,
all of the above.
I regret I haven't said anything
sooner, though
i doubt it would have done
any good.
Somethings gone that can't be
replaced
our relationships falling
apart.
I don't want to end up like
my mom and her dad.
They never talk,
he's a sad old drunk that blames
her for everything bad.
I don't want that for us,
I want things to be
the way they were
before,
but that can't be
if you keep pushing
away and pretending
I was never born.
Well dad,
I'd like to talk
longer,
but there's just too
much to say and too
little words to say it.
I love you,
and if you love me too,
you'll answer me today.
Child X

very sad a well written poem...how a father can forgo the love of a child is beyond me and far too common...a Child X, deserves the love of the world... |
