I don't want to see you anymore

Contributed by wrybod on Monday, 3rd February 2003 @ 04:20:00 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

I stood ......bereft of feeling
my back to her front door
her voice still ringing in my head
"I don't want to see you anymore"
Three long years no hurt no tears
was this the final score?
all the love and joy we'd shared
"I don't want to see you anymore!"

I could not get it through my head
turned quickly to the door
could not accept the words she said
"I don't want to see you anymore!"
The next few days were lost to me
half my soul was gone
I couldn't walk or talk or eat
What was it I had done.

Was it my fault ? Had I seemed
a little less enchanted?
Too much down the Rugby club?
Taking her for granted?
The skin was peeling off my palms
I went to see the "Quack"
right jokey "good advice" I got
"Better get her back!"

I had to go and see her
and end this private hell
I reached her door so bloody scared
I couldn't ring the bell
I stood for five long minutes
petrified to the core
for fear of once more hearing
"I don't want to see you anymore!"

When I got up next morning
a letter stopped my heart
The writing, unmistakable
I tore the envelope apart
.... she'd seen me come yersterday
and really went through hell
stood behined the door and saying
"FOR GODS SAKE RING THE BELL!"

roisin Yes there was a happy ending to that chapter in our lives and we had another year of bliss but..she was growing from 18 to 22 I was sort of "standing still" from 26 to 30.

She changed from a girl (18 was younger in those days than it is now) to a woman, she broke off our engagement and we went our separate ways.

I've only just realised that "roisin" signs herself "rosie"

YS What prompted "The grand tour" but thank you anyway much appreciated.

Life seems to me to be a bit like a boat journey the hardest part being launching off the beach and getting through the breakers.....

Thanks for the appreciation
