My Silent Voice

Contributed by PGreene on Thursday, 20th April 2006 @ 11:22:54 PM in AEST
Topic: secrets

The Silence in me speaks more than the words;
It reveals all my thoughts and all I feel.
All that I say is all that must be heard.
I speak with truth, not with means to conceal,
But my Silence can be misunderstood
And shows untruth to those with foolish eyes.
I live my life with all intent for good,
But some feel this is just a quaint disguise.
A hood and cloak, that cover me from you;
Concealing all with nothing to reveal
Because you know i cannot be seen through
I'm hiding nothing, this I do appeal.
Listen to my Silence and hear my thoughts
And watch as my views and feelings are wrought.

This is a very good write.
Many times I get silent but I just don't feel like talking.
Keep up the great writing and again welcome.

Hey, P.

I take interest with this poem on two accounts - the topic, as I've been precisely in such a situation with my very own father, me, being a 'man of few words' and my father misinterpreting that attitude, and, secondly, the fact that you chose sonnet form.

I find the second particularly surprising, really. What was your reason for using this particular structure, I wonder? We should chat over messages about this one!

Anyhow, you stayed true to the form and pumped out a good poem here.

For a first post, this is a good start. Keep working at it and I am sure we'll see some great stuff from you.

Like emy and Jenni, I want to welcome you to ypdc and hope you have a long and beneficial stay here. :)

TS

I like your sonet, and even more the meaning behind it. I often think alot and prefer to be alone when I do this and people think I am upset and trying to dissocialize myself and being an avoidant in this such manner. Sometimes people think they know your lying when really you aren't. It is so tiring and you wish they would listen to you. THey want you to talk but you are when you are saying "Im not hiding anything!" that's when they should listen...

I really like it. Good write! ^_^
