Shadows Of My Mind

Contributed by maryetta on Thursday, 20th April 2006 @ 10:12:22 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

Shadows cling to my mind of times gone past
days that could have been happy but never to be
of dreams and hopes that somehow became shadows
never to be a reality only of has beens
shadows of my mind becomes dreams of days past

ideas that somehow slip through your fingers
of what should have been but never were
missed chances that cant be recalled or altered
people who should be important somehow fade away
shadows of my mind becomes dreams of days past

and the mind stays in the foggy mist of neverland
where you have no control over your own fate
just a shadow of my mind forever lost to me
i flounder around helplessly just to find who i am
shadows of my mind becomes dreams of days past

there is no clarity to this world i live in anymore
most find it unsettling to be around me
they have no answers so they walk away
leaving me to find my own way groping all the way
shadows of my mind becomes dreams of days past

It is a poignant poem, and you have done justice to it .specially the couple of lines;
"people who should be important somehow fade away shadows of my mind becomes dreams of days past"
that reflects the mood of the poet very clearly.
Good work friend.
FRANCO
