Once Again

Contributed by buckbee on Thursday, 20th April 2006 @ 04:56:34 PM in AEST
Topic: Suicide

the faint cries of who i once was
echo in my mind
the scars from my past
are wounds yet again
the blood i once shed
is staining my flesh
the pain i thought was gone was gone for good
is screaming its way back to the surface
my heart, i thought healed
is shattered once more
my soul, i once cherished
is now damaged beyond repair
the tears i dried so many times
soak my pillow again...
my fingers, once so gentle
are tangled in my hair

i thought it was all over...

my smile, everyone loved it
has disappeared from my face
my laughter that once brightened the room
has been, yet again, replaced
... with the pain filled cries of my past
the twinkle in my eye
fell as a tear
the warmth in my heart
is now an icy chill
i thought i was ok
i thought my pain was gone
but now its all rushing back
once again...

*sigh* i know exactly what it's like, painful, but you expressed it beautifully, and i do hope, like the previous comment said, that it will get better.
