Wasn’t It You
~
Wasn’t it you,
Who tore down my walls?
Answered my pleading calls.
~
Wasn’t it you,
Who looked inside?
The inner me, I tried to hide.
~
Wasn’t it you,
Who sat me high?
On a pedestal reaching the sky.
~
Wasn’t it you,
Who offered love?
Unconditionally pure like a dove.
~
Wasn’t it you,
Who took my name?
Changed to sunshine what once was rain.
~
Wasn’t it you,
Who helped me find?
A companion until the end of time.
~
Wasn’t it you?

I like the simplicity of this. It reminds me of a song with a very different meaning.
"It was you, who put the clouds above me
It was you who broke my heart in two
It was you. . . who made my blue eyes blue"
Quote from "it was you" by Eric Clapton |

Touching poem, all it takes is one person to show you what you can truly be.
