Grief

Night falls and I sit and wait
For a savior that will never come
Faith is no longer a question-
But an answer, clearly no.
We dont ask why
We dont want to know
The world, a savage beast
that rips through each and every heart
A gunshot, a life
A wife, a mother, a child
A tear drop falls slowly upon the cheek of a babe
As a bird sings its raw song
Unbeknownst to it the murder underneath its warm nest
Crying, crying, crying are its children, hungry and waiting for comfort
The mother leaves the nest in search for a morsel of food
It flies, spreading its wings ever so gracefully upon the crisp winter air
A stone thrown and like a downward spiral
The bird falls

This is a very powerful poem. If only we could turn back time so this wouldn't have happened... but we can't. We must ensure this never happens again!
Great poem! |
