Autumn

Contributed by stacylynn on Wednesday, 19th April 2006 @ 09:06:36 PM in AEST
Topic: Tributes

I cannot explain in words, the love of a daughter so dear
For she’s taken away my heart, and left me in utter fear

The fear of her growing up, and leaving this abode to grow
To grow into someone else, without my guidance to bestow

My life I would give for her a hundred-thousand times
Endless love to give and endless love to assign

She has a precious gift, a gift in which nothing can compare
She brightens up the world, and takes away all misery and despair

Her eyes are a mystery as to who she will become
My little baby girl, has completely come undone

Her freckles are now beauty marks, her Rosie cheeks are now filled with rouge
What happened to that little girl, who is now destined to never lose?

So please my child don’t leave me, but if you do have to go…..
Remember this mothers’ love for her daughter, is something most will never know

For my daughter Autumn….You will always be in my heart and forever in my soul…

Love,
Mom

I come close to feeling as you do, being a father of a 24 year old daughter...your guidance will always be needed, just not always accepted...but just like you and I, they'll grow to the best they can be...and pride will swell our chests...good write...
