Poem III (26/1/03 10:20 pm)
Edited (1/2/03)
Reynosa
You may not like me,
And I may like you,
Friends we still are,
No matter what comes,
With Allah’s Will and Grace,
Even if destiny is not with us,
Friends we shall stay, even though a memory.
You may like me,
And I may not like you,
The acquaintance we shared,
Treasured as a memory,
Set in stone, set in blood,
One day God willing, I might change,
To the future we set our hopes,
Together, through thick and thin.
Maybe I love you,
And you love me,
What good is that, but harmony,
Playing with the stars that fall,
A blessing from the Almighty,
To see the spectacle of nature,
And to listen, think, enjoy,
The movement of His Love on all creation.
Friend, Love, Acquaintance, Enemy,
What makes you all the same,
Is when I know your names,
Only what you do and are,
Differentiate each from the other,
What shall pass after this?
God only knows, the All-Knowing,
Friend for all times.
