This old oak tree leans and
Cries,
He misses the life that once
Made it there home,
The leaves very few
The wind and rain has taken
It’s told,
For many centuries it has
Provided shade and refugee
For all in need
Warmth when it was cold
Shade from the heat,
Now his limbs as of skeleton
Branches,
Ghastly silhouettes glowed
From the old oak,
When the moon was full and
Cast its light,
This old oak tree leans and
Cries,
I’d been through the storm
The blistering sun,
Blizzards and the likes
Frost bitten roots
Trembling in the cold
Sleet and freezing rain,
Snow covering his roots,
While he bends and cry
Shivers in the cold, lonely
And along, sad and weary
The old oak bends
Crying in the night
