WHY?

You hear it coming from a mile away
the gut wrenching, breath stealing smell
marking its journey
You hear it's cry
the sound pounding through your head
and tearing at your heart
You do what you can to keep it at bay
You know nothing will work but still you try
You sense it closer
Your heart pounding
What do you do?
You crouch in the corner
All lights are tuned off
You tell yourself it's not here for you
But in your heart you know the truth
You hear it outside your door
screaming and scratching to get through
the door starts splintering
you flinch at the sound
you stand slowly
getting ready to run
The door breaks and in it comes
the stench overpowering
the sound knocking you breathless
You finally give in
The monster attacks
He's gone now and you're all alone
Your blood on the ground
the scent making you sick
but nothing can be done
You're dying and no one knows
the last thought you have is
"WHY"

| VERY VERY NICE. Great use of imagery. I really enjoyed. and it put a Very Clear picture in my mind. Great job, keep it up. |
