Serenity - a co-write

Contributed by wizard on Wednesday, 19th April 2006 @ 12:47:28 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

How little did I once believe
That dulcet tones could dare deceive,
Or love so true could cause such pain;
That love so true would be in vain.

I’ve learned sad lessons through the years
But slowly and with many tears,
These lessons swiftly fade away
With hope of love another day.

So few in days of early youth
Trusted, like me, in love and truth-
Misled by a promising, tender heart,
But such allure is soon to part.

From all that love has brought to me,
I strive to find humility
And in my search I’ve yet to feel
A peacefulness from which to heal;

But I cannot help but kindly view
The sadness I was passing through
As, weary tests that I have passed;
Now coming into restful peace...

Serenity at last.

Well, I can't say how wonderful it is to read a collaboration by you two. I was so pleasantly
surprised when I signed in today and found this stunning work of art displayed. Sad, the
lessons we must endure at times, (all in the name of growth, I guess). Yet, through each
trial we find a strength and a certain (eventual) aquiescence, not only in the situation, but
in ourselves as well. What this teaches us will ultimately be beneficial to our state of mind,
(or emotions as it were). I have to say, I found in this piece much courage and strength. And
I am sure the bond you share has helped in that respect.

Beautiful work. I relate to this all too well. Very moving indeed.

*hugs to you both*

Two of my favourite poets have combined their talents together to produce a very moving and heartfelt write. We are dealt a cruel hand in life sometimes, but from there we gain courage and strength. You two have clearly shown you can overcome anything. Together you stand tall.
An emotional, heartfelt and very well penned piece of poetry. May u both see brighter days ahead.
*warm huggers*

I honestly cannot believe this piece hasn't gotten more attention. If is, by far, one of the best collaborations that I've read to date on this site (or... anywhere for that matter). It... doesn't look or sound like a collaboration - which, in and of itself, is a significant accomplishment. The execution here is terribly impressive.

With regard to flow and theme, content and composition - I have to tell you this feels very familiar. (Bear with me... I know that sounds quite awful at first.) It feels familiar to me because it reminds me of the works of poets long passed... and I mean that, as the highest of compliments. You two, and this piece, could easily stand together with the poets and poems of the past - and shine in the very same way that the others do.

Well, well, well, well done!

(who confesses that she first read this late last night and knew then, for having felt too tired to comment, that she'd most definitely be heading back here)
