Just Like Me

Are you like me? A liar like me? You choked the answers and left me blind. You killed the hope; you destroyed the signs. You burned my heart. You were never mine…
You are fake. You are afraid. You are the reason I’m not sober. You are cold. You are alone. This is far from over….
I guess you’re ugly, just like me. I guess you’re liar; the exact same thing. Choking me harder; yelling at me. Am I supposed to not feel anything?
You’re the reason I’m not dead, but you’re the reason why my tears are blood. And you’re the one who said you’d always be here and you’re the one who left me first.
I was so happy. I was part of something. You took it away when you left me.
And there’s no emotion in your eyes. You act so nice, but to my surprise…you don’t care anymore. So when I die, will you cry? I guess you’re ugly, just like me….
And I carved your name into the walls. You betrayed me the day you left me. And you still say you’ll come back for me, but what happens when you find out I’m ugly?
So I guess you’re a liar. What I was everyday. I guess I’m not the one you want anyway. You choked the answers. Brought the rain. Killed my sanity. Held my pain.
You made me cry those ugly tears until I drowned in them.
And you still say you love me…
But will you ever come back?
Will always remember….
Always want me,
But never come back,
Because I’m so ugly.
I guess we’ll never know, because you’re a liar, like me. You’re so ugly….you’re exactly like me.

I can't be sure of the song you say you got this from but I do love the way this is written.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
