Nightmares of the Forgotten

Contributed by Craze on Monday, 17th April 2006 @ 02:24:53 PM in AEST
Topic: self-harmpoetry

Plagued by these nightmares and my greatest fears reflected by these past mirrors. But no one cares about the kid who cried all these years. Who just tip-toed on by not muttering a word or cry. This is why people die inside. This is what happens when people pri away your pride. These type of people that try to survive triin' thrive on the drive of hurt and pain. Triin' to regain thier lives making baby strides.
These are the people that don't want you to know who hides behind these blinding angel eyes,or is it lies, maybe just a devil in disguise, and to my demise I was fooled again pulled in only to be pushed away not knowing the bringing of a new day. Thier heart begining to decay as thier fabrics of life begin to frey.
Thier minds begin to stray from life to how much they hate thier own pain and strife. This is where they try to solve thier problems with a knife as they continue to think about taking thier own life, and how it's too much to bare and how life isn't fair. Thinking that no one'll care. Dareing someone to stop them from self- destructing, and cutting peices of thier lives. As they continue to feel vibes of lonliness, because only this can tear someone apart. As I tell you this is the destruction of someone's heart.

The context of this poem hit me somewhere deep in the heart. At times I felt like you exposed the thoughts in my head. It also emphasizes that we're never really original or different. I don't say that as a criticism of your poem but how I think of most things.

I did think however that your poem could use better structure. You kind of have it written as a story and yet without a storyteller's flow...It made it harder to follow the rhymes. I had to rely on the natural cadence in my head which is usually different than what the poet intends.

Wow. This is incredible. I'm not sure how to elaborate. It is descriptive while remaining almost abstract. The detail was sharp and yet I felt like I was watching from the outside. I am unable to fully express how this made me feel. Excellent job.
