My Angel

Contributed by silver_runaway on Monday, 17th April 2006 @ 10:21:55 AM in AEST
Topic: FamilyPoems

A frail heartbeat; so tender and gentle
Small fingers; so sweet
Tiny toes; so perfect
Skin as smooth as silk; softer than the reddest rose

His eyes shimmer with compassion; they hold what we all want
Knowledge beyond understanding furrows his little brow; what does he think about
Wisdom beyond his years fill his life; its surprising what he already knows
Courage surrounds him; he doesn't know to be afraid of moving shadows

Will he remember how he was; so innocent and sweet
Can he tell us the secrets of the world; hidden so well inside his mind
How will he be when he grows; will he lose his understanding
Why can't we all be like that; so kind and good

Its amazing what you can learn from a child

This poem is absolutely beautiful! I believe when an infant is born, at that very moment of birth, the child leaves the gates of heaven and enters this imperfect world but still with a heavenly insight. As the child grows older, the farther away it moves from that heavenly place and so gradually loses the insight and understanding from heaven. "Looking At A Miracle" sweetly reinforces that belief. Great Job!
