I need not your love,
Nor your affection.
Not even your smile,
Just a story, a recollection.
Give me a story; something sad and delicate
That turns and twists.
Here, take my hands
Write it on my wrists.
Spin me a tale; something soft and sweet
Like a strawberry at midnight.
You are the spinner, I'm just the yarn
Make me spectacular, knit me tight.
Weave me a dream; something smooth and silvery
Like the liquid moon so far away
Fabrications have no limitations
For tell me, who's to say?
Just tell me something beautiful
Unfold me something strange
Utter to me the pretty words
I could never find on a page.
