Somber Attainments

Contributed by night_child on Sunday, 16th April 2006 @ 10:27:01 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Just as the Wolf cries
To a moon too far to reach

Just as the Owl senses
A prey too far to catch

Lost in a catacomb
Of desires not my own

I only wish I could
Pull away

I'd shed no tears

If that wolf
Should rip my throat

Spill my blood
Upon an uncaring ground

If it means returning
To a time long forgotten

When I could look at you
See the epitome of love

I fear that now
All I see is a void

I could chase your love
Down a mountainside of hope

But where would I be then?

Someday
I'll find the way

To reach the moon
To catch my prey

Outstanding poem! One of the best I have read too. I love the way you have conveyed the act of searching the heart and mind here through beautiful flowing words.
