Streaks staring from the mirror
As the custodial serviceman wipes them away
Bite my lip to capture a whisper
And no one was even listening to what I had to say
So with a giant step backwards
A glance to make sure everything is alright
A double backflip to triple gainer
I got a 8.5 because my left knee was too far right
It is quite alright when I think about it
In fact I am quite pleased with my score
When I consider more extreme alternatives
I really couldn't ask for more
I could ask for the sunshine
To not make its way so successfully
In through my window after sunrise
Even though being blind makes things seem wonderfully
Incorrect; not incorrect for a reason
But for the instance that chance should reappear
Hope is for suckers, the hard man wins in the end
So what else is there to fear?
Like writing yourself a memo
That you really know you will ignore
With a picture on the table
And a pleasant knock on the door
Calmer than a secret
Even before it is told
Like a hypothetical situation
That just recycles and grows ever so old
My mind is just a filter
And the smoke fills the inner chamber of my brain
Tar bleeds through my ear drums
But I am in no lack of pain
I become a story
A half fond half torturous thought
Something not quite priceless
But like a family watch that can't be bought
I am condensed into pictures
I hope they got a picture of my 8.5-er
I can swim with the best of them
But I am the world's worst Olympic diver
