Considered my best poem, I think it sucks. But needed a new place to rest. I've posted this in numerous other places, but thought this was the best.
"Kill me." He said
As he stood upon that bridge
"Push me." He cried
Begging that it be my hand, not his, that takes his life.
But whether my hand or his request
It's his own life he takes.
Responsibility
Personal responsibility
This is something we have lost
This loss isn't worth the cost
Now humans are not responsible for being stupid
"There wasn't a sign, how could I know the coffee was hot?"
Responsible for our own words, not how others take them
Responsible for our own actions, for no one else makes them.
There he stands upon the bridge, ignorant and alone
There he stands waiting, God please take us home
I refuse to push him, I refuse to deal his death
My choice, my responsibility, I reach my hand for his
Gone, gone, no more is he
His hand just out of reach
God Please
Have mercy.
