IS LOVE A RELIGION?

Ripples of lord’s voice rang the bells
of humanity and humility time after time,
every time - love thy enemies as I love
thee to my last immortal breath,
render thy right cheek to thy foe
when he hurt’s thy left – "say cool
he is my redeemer." So I thought.
Until the day I read an ad, which read;
”this dog is man’s best mate” lo,
my slipping tongue slipped the sentence
and read ‘this man is dog’s mate”
Stood next was a macho who fumed like
an inferno grabbed and slapped my left cheek.
I being a follower turned my right
and he spanked it too - hard indeed
with no hesitation. He mocked,
“Do you have an other.” Love failed hate prevailed,
I ran out as he stood laughing -
came back with a six-shooter, blazing shots hither and thither.
Wobbling macho jumped up his hands scared
wide eyes gazing the long black glitzy barrel.
“I ‘m now a pagan, I rather say, an eye for an eye
and a tooth for a tooth so I shall live”
This is the call of the time - gone are those days
when love ruled - cheeks were spared,
brutal world that we live on -
spare not a kin, to win, where do I stand a bargain,
but to change the lane for a mortal gain.

Taste the truth, once you've tasted it, you have the full flavor of Love.
Religion.. practice, belief, pretty personal for many individuals.. It is a communion between ourselves and God in a most sacred matter.
Religion is a personal belief and a private matter for many and is kept within the confines of their homes. I do not put religion on exhibit, make a show of it. I just know love, and love is God. If you know God, you know love.
Love is that communion between self and God and a sacred matter. No matter how much someone goes to church, or prays, it is useless to practice a religion if their is no love in the heart, otherwsie, a person is merely speaking dead words, and living dead words. A true believer, Christian will glorify Jesus Christ, God, and not himself or others.
Love has its own timeless effect.. in its own eternity where there is no evil. Love is profound, it is the tune of the soul, it is the unison of life.
Love of God is the soul of religion. It is more than wisdom, it is power.
As the saying goes: Love is grand, deep, wide, divine, forgiving, charitable. Love does not judge, it resists all evil, it is humble, self-giving.
Yes, I do understand why some folks do not want to have anything to do with religion, because of those who use it, work it for more reasons than what its all about. That is a different kind of power, and not of the Lord. Many pray for, to and about natural things on earth, and not the supernatural which is pure love, the creator.
Wonderful poem, full of questions..

Franco! - Raquelbefore said it already, what I could only repeat.
There is no religion without love. None whatsoever.
Where there is love there is God.
But, I would like to mention, although our Lord spoke of turning the other cheek,-
when He was questioned by Caphias and the servent struck Him, He did not turn the other cheek, but asked: If I have not spoken the truth- why do you strike me.?
It's a hyperbole this turning the other cheek.
TheInner disposition counts.
Abundant lessings
