The chamber is empty
I can tell by the click-clicking
I had closed my eyes poised and waiting
Building suspense all the while
click...
click,
Then I draw my hand down
I'm going to check this out
yet I'm slightly distracted by the bright light
at the end of the hallway.
I am frozen where I stand
caught between the light and what's in my hand
It's decision time
what will it be
reload the chamber
or wait and see
My hand is sweating, shaking, and unstable.
I could never be a surgeon
Zero hour is upon us
yeah there's two in the room
1, 2, 3, .......SHOOT!

This is interesting though I'm not sure what is going on. Is this the perspective of a cop or a resident caught in a home invasion, or a scene from a war? Certainly conveyed the fealing of fear and uncertainty though. Good write.
