If these words sound too cliché
Please, my dear, leave be that way
Id rather you hear this a thousand times
Until I see that your heart truly, chimes
All I see know is how it was
How you and I felt, how words never seemed redundant
How actions from two fused into one
But who’s to blame,
for how our love did slowly fade?
Who’s shoes do I need to walk in to comprehend?
Who’s dreams do I need to capture to sleep?
Who’s going to respond to the echoes that resound,
“Would the world be better with one less hypocrite?
Would the earth spin more lightly without my empathy
Holding me down?”
Questions to which no one will respond to, my dear
But don’t take fright love, don’t fret just yet
For I still like to hear the world laugh
I still like to think that the cure is out there
I still wonder how you’ll turn out to be
