I do not know who he is anymore
His face distorts and he grabs anything within reach,
sometimes my body...and thrashes it.
I slam onto the bed and I've died inside
I cradle myself and scream into my hands
Broken again, I wish he would stop
He isn't himself and he scares me right now
He grabs me so hard and hisses into my face
"WHY ARE YOU CRYING!!?" I struggle from the twisted embrace.
The phone is to my ear with Kevin on the other end
He tells me to run, run away from him
He says it's not right what he does to me, but God it's so hard to flee!
And then he crashes, his high burning down
and he cries up against me, begging me to stay
"I would never hurt you! You just don't understand!"
But it's you who doesn't understand, lover
that you are hurting me
but you are no longer my lover, he must have died finally
