How fine it seems, this mild April night,
to lean from the window..
hearing clearly, ringing from the shadowy bright,
the moon's unearthly cry!
Southwest, the wind blows..
rippling 'round the point in mellow tune;
but mournful, like that of one who raves,
is the laughter of the April moon!

Oh Billy, how I do love the moon! This was a splendid short
write. It's amazing in only eight little lines how you can
finesse the moon into such delightful personification.
A thing of beauty it is.

A wonderful poem to read before bed... I have to go look at the moon before I sleep.....tho' after reading this I don't think I need to.
