Walking Away

Contributed by spyndl on Wednesday, 12th April 2006 @ 02:14:09 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

My heart is not what it used to be
Shattered by your lack of wanting to be with me
I don’t know how you could pass me up so easily
After what I went through to be with you
You said there was something missing from the start
Now I realize it was your heart
So I had to say good bye
Now all I can do is fight these familiar feelings of wanting to die
Everything I see reminds me of you
The places we went, things we saw
Come flooding back to nail me against the wall
The music I hear brings tears to my eyes
I cry now for what I’ve lost
For now my heart just simply rots
No more will I wake to your embrace
I’m shattered now
Distraught from all this pain
I don’t hate you for what you’ve done
You were my sun
But time’s moved on and that sun has set
Darkness now tries to creep back in
I fear my final fight is about to begin

Ain't it always the way. Don't worry - it's the next one that kills ya. Top write, by the way, and very heartfelt.

Spike
