Reinventing Fear

Contributed by Lilly-Quill on Monday, 10th April 2006 @ 11:40:45 PM in AEST
Topic: psychoticpoems

Even from birth we have innate fears, such as that of falling
There are also physiological ones from deep traumas calling
Then we have fears characterized by our subliminal nature
Unlike ones of the dark-man void conscience like a creature

Fear can be a shield against envy, for social acceptability
As such, fear can freeze us into unproductive immobility
Mostly it seems that, beside love, people fear mostly change
Who can face fear without facing themselves first, then to rearrange

Comfort zones cushions us for control, against controlling games
We hardly accept the blending of our lot, the good and bad, to frame
In a storm, the wise man prays not for safety but deliverance from fear
Security, within God, comes not from feeling we deserved to be spared

Really, on one ever told me of Fear’s cousin, called Grief
Or that, when terror comes surrender quickly for peace and relief
With some fears it would seem we’re powerless to gain a-grip
Fears are projectionist oft recurring, we need to master it’s slip

Know your enemy by the way he proceeds to frighten, or fiercely gallop
Fear is that little darkroom where only negatives are developed
When we don’t face our fear we inevitably run into a dead-end-wall
At sometime we have to turn around, and stand, to see the whole
Courage isn't absence of fear, rather seeing the prize of one's goal

It is a well researched poem, with an in depth thought to it. A great way to write.
Fear; according to me is the stepping-stone for courage: when fear creeps in we try to conquer it with courage and the birth of nerves takes places.
FRANCO.
