This day I wake
I will not be
that person sits
inside of me
I'll take each beat
of time away
Yet I will be
each single day
Holding on
to every breath
I treasure help
with bated breath
caressing then
soles lonely heart
I'm glued to hold
will not part
Calling glimpses
of a saltry moon
I ask His guidence
in a tragic tune
Cramping life
into ones own being
I sit realising
I'm never seeing
Cradeling babe
in tender arms
Soft one's touch
in feathered palms
Binding whispers
with ones brandied kiss
I hold forlong
and I heavily miss
Forever young
this babe will be
I trust in God
will one day see

Firstly I must commend you on an excellent title!
reminds me...
I too have written a poem of the same name,
But i've never shown it to anybody i'll have to hunt it out!
This is a good piece written in a very unique style.

This touches the heart in many ways it holds
an impecable thruth that hits 2 close to home
it certainly touched me. very effective peice of poetry.
