It was April twenty-third of 1989
In her eyes the sun did shine.
In my arms they laid her to rest
Suddenly still were the hands of time.
Tiny hands, and tiny feet
And big grey eyes make hearts skip beats.
A single moment is all it took.
Just a glance a single look.
My heart she held in that little hand.
Then the hour glasses shifting sands.
The hands of time moved again
And I just let the sun shine in.
Lying there she was all I knew
A moment as fresh as the morning dew.

You just touched my heart for a moment; I exactly know how you feel, it is a divine bliss.
Poetry with feelings are hard to come by but you are simply amazing.

A very lovely write. I know all too well about the hour glass of time. My oldest daughter will be 21 in June, and I can't believe how quickly time passes. I can picture her too, still that tiny baby in my arms, now, she has the tiny baby in her arms. Our rolls have changed, and she is now the mother. Please write this poem for you daughter, have it mounted, as she will cherish it always. Very heart warming and loving. Nicely done. One suggestion: There is a typo in the title, ITME. I'm sure you've already been given the heads up on this one, but I just thought I would mention it in case you haven't been told. Keep up the great work.
Gods Blessings. Mary |
