The Lesson This Soul Has Yet To Learn

Contributed by SmileSkinDeep on Sunday, 9th April 2006 @ 11:18:07 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Teach this soul a lesson
Burn through this disease
No, not to believe
Not a metahpor
Not what I achieve

This is all true
This is all real
Nothing washes the interior
And it doesn't appeal

I've had enough
I don't wanna keep lying
I don't wanna keep dying
I just wanna know
The answers to all my questions
Do I have to keep asking myself
Every single day
Am I perfect?
Is it ok?
No its not!
Nothing is ever ok
The only plausible explanation:
I am a complete mistake
Why else would I have to
Search for meaning?
Why else would I
Wait to start bleeding?
Thus the result
The bruises and scars
The deeper deeper pleading
The wanting to have meaning
Wishing, hoping, praying
Anything within my grasp
My confusion
I want to be alive
Wishing to thrive
The wanting, the contiunal waning
The craving for anwswers
Hunger for truth

Burning as opposed to cut
Maybe it better...
To burn is to
To want something more
To try and learn
So simply ask why
And get nothing in return
Forced to grow up
My soul has yet to learn
So I will try to teach it a lesson
Although not willingly
I wish things weren’t this hard
As thought I wasn’t meant to be

I don't wanna be alone
I know I'm not
I'm just so messed up
I don't mean to be
I'm so sorry
Just hear my plead
As I beg for forgiveness
I ask for somehting more
Please, answer my questions
For I will ask no more
