I Thought I Knew Better

I promised myself I never would
I knew in my head that I never should
You hurt me all the time
And never say sorry
You just come try tell me some story
You got the best of me
Then I just let you come and take the rest of me
I fought your allure for so long
And now with one weak moment its all gone
I didn't even put up a fight
At that moment I felt it was right
You said this was how it was supposed to be
Before her,
Just you and me
I agree we waited so long
But disbelieve nothing could go wrong
Because now I’m sober and tormented
Thinking of how this whole situation could have been prevented
If you had of just given up on me
Notably when I told thats how I wanted it to be
Don’t think you can have her and me
This was a one time decree
Because it wasn't even as good as I thought it would be
