Willows Revenge

Contributed by NoSaint on Saturday, 8th April 2006 @ 07:31:31 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Bending like the willows
To a warm summer breeze
She was at his feet
Head down on her knees

Crying for him to not leave
He thought he had broke her
She was nothing without him
Hatred inside her began to stir

She remembered the beatings
The humiliation in front of friends
The endless torment and pain
Many nights she thought would be the end

Then she thought of his other wives
Who had suffered at his hands
Were they really accidents?
Or did he need to make amends

How many other women?
Suffered the same fate
Beaten and bruised
As his ego he did sate

Standing up she softly smiled
She looked him in the eye
She said this is for all of us
Now it is your turn to die

With a strength beyond mortal men
She lunged forward, he was shocked
And broke his neck with mighty force
He had no time to take stock

He thought this was his meek wife
But she lay upstairs fast asleep
This was a wraith came to make right
What had left her to eternally weep

Turning and walking away
She smiled at what was done
Coming back to stop the pain
To bad he was her only son

A strong poem with bitter truth in it. “male ego” the venom need to be extracted no matter how.
Good emotional writing.

Heart breakingly tragic and so real. You story poems always show so much depth, and this one ended in a way that I did not see coming. Well done, as always.

SUPERB!

Oh! this is so sad with a twist at the end that chilled me. It would be nice to have a mother come avenge all the woman who had been beaten throughout life by their men wouldnt it?

Yes Shalri - this is magnificent in its tragic.
There are all to many machos who believe that meekness is the proper thing for woman, and suddenly they find out - in a wink that the tide has turned, to their great surprise, and shock
That it is them that were given the "good-bye"
not the other way round;.
Great tragic poem
Peace and Light
Elizabeth
