You give the world a fancy show
And think you're just like me;
But I am what you'll never know
-What you could never be.
I watch you as you try to brood,
Pretending you're insane.
You'll never understand my mood;
You'll never know my pain.
You think that you know me so well;
You think you know my heart.
The truth is that I've been through Hell,
And we are worlds apart.
You think heartache will make you cool
And bring you lots of friends;
But, in the end, you're just a fool
Who follows fads and trends.
The day will come; you'll lose your voice
And be alone, like me.
The difference is you have a choice,
And that could set you free.
Your suffering was never real.
This fact, you must embrace.
Unlike me, you can still feel;
That is your saving grace.
Turn away and don't look back.
Leave this world behind.
Capacity is what you lack
To have a troubled mind.
