He Died In My Arms
It was the sweetest night
The rain... came down slow & calm
We were caught up in the joy of each other
We didn't even see death coming for us, but who ever does.
He just comes and goes, taking life with him.
It was my love death had chosen
The car came out of no where
He crashed through the window, I hit my head hard, & flew backwards
Pain rolled in my heart because I was OK , because my life just went up
in smoke & flashed right before my eyes, but I was not dead, I was alive.
I opened my eyes & saw him lying there on the could wet ground.
All I could do was try to get to him without thinking the unthinkable. Tears fell from my eyes like the rain itself.
As I tried crawled to him. Trying not to worry about the pain coming from my legs or the blood bleeding down my head.
I made it to him.
I picked him up, held him in my arms so tight, &
I cried as if I was a newborn child. As if I never cried before. Asking God please do not take him from me.
He is my life, my peace of mind, my everlasting song, my story, the beginning & the end.
He looked up at me & touched my cheek. I saw so much pain in eyes. The look he gave me drove me crazy. Like he knew deep down this was these end. For him! All I could say was, "I love you.''
More & more tears fell from my eyes, my heart was breaking into thousands of pieces. He open his mouth to speak, At first I couldn't understand, but then I heard him so clean. He gave a dry small laugh
He said...he said."I envy the next man that can take my place in your heart, but I will always love you."
He gave his last breath & then he let go. His hand just dropped from my skin and I... just sat there looking at him. I didn't care about the rain or the blood falling from my head. His last foolish words, I cried out
There could never be another man that could his place in my heart. Because my heart is now gone. He took it with him when he gave his last breath.
When he said those word & when he died in my arms. And I wished... oh how I wished
I died too
