Below The Surface

Below the surface of this girl,
Lies one very complex soul.
I am not quite finished,
Still awhile before I'm whole.

I keep trying to go forward,
But I somehow keep slipping back.
Not sure of why I always fail,
Not sure of what I lack.

When it seems I'm going somewhere,
It's then I come crashing down.
People see me everyday,
Yet I haven't yet been found.

I try to voice my opinions,
But I am afraid that they won't hear.
What I am really trying to say,
I live everyday in fear.

Everybody sees the outer girl,
But they always fail to see.
What lies beneath the surface,
They fail to really see me.
