WOULD YOU HAVE KNOWN HIM?

WOULD YOU HAVE KNOWN HIM?

If he knocked on your door today.........
Would you have known this man?
Standards of today would have
found him very poor in every way!
No home, no bed, no money........
he would be arrested for vagrancy today!
Companions were lowly and poorer
than he.........yet, he loved them warmly.
Those with wicked hearts hated him intensely
The 'good-hearted' loved him immensely.

Perfect kindness, joyful, with a warm
loving heart.
His love for all mankind was easy for him
to impart.
Widows and fatherless boys must be
embraced at any cost.
Generous, giving, he was not prejudice
for he healed any lost.
No halo over his head as some would
depict........
He was not "Holier than thou" rather
a humble subject.

He stated, "Let the little children come
to me...........
Children know a truly kind person,
even his sandals were comely,
A perfect imitation of his Heavenly father,
no man ever greater.
Did he really exist? Historians state
a huge "Yes!"
Carpenter's son, he was hated, and
put to death they confess.

Deeply compassionate, forgiving, full of pity
tender-hearted, merciful, and sympathetic.
Women especially loved him, no
sympathy in their world, he was it!
He came to tell and show how we
will fare.....
Under his Kingdom (or government)
arrangements he will share.
A man with a powerful personality,
affected human history remarkably
Even our calendars are based on the
year that he was born.
BC (Before the Christ) and AD
(In the year of the Lord) none scorn

The greatness of a man can be measured
by what he leaves to grow.
He started others to think along fresh lines
with vigor after thousands of years
even in our day they show.
One of the finest of all his qualities
he was approachable,
The young, old, poor rich, sick,
crippled, even sinners found him
their equal.

"

A perfect image of His Loving Father.....
open arms with warm embrace,
Would you have been ashamed to be seen
with him, or would he be a disgrace?
When you saw him die a most ignominious
death would you have still been his friend?
What King, for his subjects today
is willing his life to extend?
When you saw him suffer, and cry out
would you have cried?
He was hated! Ask if you were his friend,
would you have lied?
Miraculous resurrection brought him back.
He died for you, would you let him in
if he knocked at your door.........
or holdback?

I wish I knew who
sketched these lovely
images, I'd like to give her
credit for her beautiful work!

ConSue the sketches and the words are marvelous together. Whom ever drew those images, I would imagine, would be as pleased to have them associated with your words ... as you are. Wonderful presentation. Many blessings.

Yes, I let Him in. I always serve a plate of food for Him. Because He does not need the food I prepare, I serve it to my husband for lunch the next day. I know though that He loves me even if the food on the plate does not disappear. Do I make sense? The food He prepares for me, I eat it up, it may be invisible to most, but I am full and I keep full with His food. This is the best way I can describe for this comment. I am just so very happy to be with Him and He with me. Thank you Consue for this lovely poem.. I can feel your heart, He is loving you and me and us all right now. He is pleased with you for teaching His word and all about Him.

Compassion will cure more sins than condemnation; it's not religious business, it is human business, it is not luxury, it is essential for our own peace and mental stability, and it is essential for human survival.

This and such imagery speaks a thousand words of endearing compassion, brilliantly ascribed...
