WHY BLAME THY HEART?

Inside a murky penal cell, I saw
a pitiful pathetic man - is he a man or a brut? Hard to say,
held in his hand was his raw heart, bleeding and throbbing,
yet pleading to the beholder, for liberty,
from the agony of insane virulent liquor. Pathetic, dimwit
one he was, failed to perceive the
painful agony of his heart. I stood by his side,
queried, ‘why thou hold thy bleeding heart,
will it not painfully tear thee apart?’ His painful eyes
piercingly said, ‘blame me not for the deed,
but the broken heart I hold, trapped me into addiction, pushed
into the magic web of toxic passion, my lass in love and peace, perished
beyond recognition, here I pile like a rubbish, shivering
– naked without love, begging for mercy, and you think I’m crazy?’
‘Amoral man tainted his life ‘nd blamed all upon his bleeding heart,
yet set and rode gaily on the fatal path, blindfolded by a wretched drug.

very sad here.. once you get into those things, its a real deep load of courage to go thru the pain of pulling yourself out.. and blessed is He who will ask the Lord for help while going through the pain. so sad, this poem.. brings tears to me..

Franko,
This is a very moving piece. Addiction is a truly destructive force that affects everyone it touches. I relived some very painful memories while reading this.
Thank you again for sharing.
*Hugs*
