Funny Flies

It was moving day--
held onto the sink--
what a moment ‘this’ . . .
having my house fly.
Got a banana
that was overripe.
It slipped on its’ peel.
Boy, did that fruit fly.
Hot . . . turned on the fan.
The temp kept rising.
I caught and released
that dang, old firefly.
Went to the stable,
itching for a ride.
Saddled up my steed,
soared on a horsefly.
I alone have keys
to my locked icebox.
Can’t open it wide
you know . . . butter flies.
My wild pet is green
with big, bulging eyes.
When my horse is ill,
that old dragon flies.
I do not tell lies--
wipe tears from your eyes.
My life’s uniquely
filled with funny flies.
Don’t care what folks think
when they see strange things.
I see gasps, hear shrieks
as I’m . . . Ima Fly.
