Grief
|
Her eyes were like glass; she no longer saw
Her hands were cold; she no longer felt pain
Her lips no longer moved; her voice was long gone
Her fingers no longer worked right; she could no longer grasp
Her mind swam; alone she thought
She thought of the better days; back when she could smile
She thought of the younger days; back when she could laugh
She remembered how the sun felt on her face; she missed the warmth
She remembered what it was like to run; she missed the wind
She was still now; slowly she faded
Where were her friends; all the faces in her memories
Where were her children; the little ones she helped grow
Where was her husband; the man she loved for so many years
Where was her life; had everything really changed
Where would she go; if she could cry she would
Here came the cold; it was like needles down her frayed body
Here came the silence; it burned into her ears
Here came the fear; she didn’t want to leave
Here came the end; she was so tired
Here came the night; slowly she closed her unseeing eyes

It is indeed a beloved work of affection - She might have closed her wary eyes but she certainly shall hold your reflection in her heart because your love for her speaks volumes.
It is a wonderful work of affection and love.
FRANCO.
