Empty

Topic: DarkPoetry

I feel that my heart
Is small and dirty
It can't beat fast enough
To give enough air
Maybe that is why, it seems
The emptiness always lingers
Like a sniper, eying its prey

I feel like a wartorn city
Threatening to combust
I'm searching for sustenance,
But nothing satisfies for long
I feel so unworthy, so lost
The emptiness has caught me again
Its tentacles always find me

Leaving me dry and broken
Like some dead leaf
Which will never live again
Am I that leaf?
Which fell early
I feel so empty and weary
Why can nothing sustain?

I just want to
Throw myself off a cliff
And be dashed upon some rocks
Then my emptiness will be gone
And I can be freed from myself
Oh, what a mercy!
How tempting it is

These tears they never fall
Just threaten to
Like now
Why? is my only question
My only scream
I don't get an answer back
Lord you've left me here

So I will continue my search
It says you are my Father
But I don't see you anywhere
In the midst of everything
So sadly, I will continue on
A lost and bitter
Child of yours...

You paint a vivid picture here, and your forward approach to share your anger here does the poem well. Keep writting.
