I once was alone in a world full of hate
fighting a battle at hells firey gate
lost in chasm no place to grab hold
not hearing the truths i had always been told
anguish despaire was all i had left
my peach and serenity was taken by theft
a lover I trusted betrayal and sin
i should have seen through his evil grin
beaten and battered left for dead
anger and fear inside my head
attempting to end my life once again
runaway from all the pain
years of abuse i left behind
now i see no longer blind
Freedom reigns forevermore
amazed at what God had in store

As an outsider looking in people are quick to judge those in abusive relationships.
I've heard it so many times...
Why don't they just get out?
But sometimes it can take a long time,
When you're in a relationship like this the abuse almost becomes the norm.
When you do finally get out it's like being released from a prison sentence totally exillerating the chance to start a new life.
This is a powerful well thought out write.
Well done.
